In one of the wonderful collection of books by Carlos Castaneda, Don Juan, the Yaqui Indian shaman says: ‘The worst that could happen to us is that we have to die and since that is already our unalterable fate, we are free; those who have lost everything no longer have anything to fear’.
This is a realistic attitude to life and death. Life is short and transient. As we live our life, let us investigate our fears, ignorance and what is behind life and death. Freedom is not in our ego but in what we are as Conscious Presence.
