    Mantra, Grace and other matters

    Mantra, Grace and other matters

The first in a series taken from Swami Nishchalananda’s visit to Indiafrom December 2002 to January 2003 The sessions from Satyananda Tapovanam are quite informal, but always contain pearls of wisdom from Swamiji’s extensive knowledge of Yoga, Tantra, Advaita. An Interview with Swami Nishchalananda

Welcome back to Swamiji’s blog; it’s been decided that it will continue, and in time you will start to see more of his archived material from about 20 years ago. First, we’d like to bring you an interview that happened here at Mandala ashram recently; you can tell when by the lovely blue skies when…

    Portal to Consciousness (4)

    Portal to Consciousness (4)

The final part of the second series on the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra, given online to the Sheffield School of Yoga. Swamiji begins by noting that we seem to have ‘deified’ thinking; The practices of Yoga and Tantra, certainly as laid out in the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra, may cause us to question the certainty of our…

What are We and What is Love?

What are We and What is Love?

Swamiji gave one of his Zoom transmissions on 20th November. Ishavasya Upanishad

    Ishavasya Upanishad

I have just received and listened to Rajesh David’s latest CD entitled ‘Isha’. I must say that it is, as ever, an absolute gem. Rajesh brings out the wisdom, sentiments and inspirations of the Ishavasya Upanishad in his incomparable style. Beautiful chanting of the Sanskrit text. May Rajesh continue to produce more priceless renditions of…

Sannyasa, dedication to the life of spiritual pursuit, has changed from the days of early ascetic ashram lifewhere the sannyasi was fairly much isolatedfrom the doings of the ‘outside world’…. Swamiji talks of both the external form of Sannyasa and the internal form. Externally, the…

Mandala Yoga Ashram

Swami Nishchalananda was valued highly as a teacher in India, and was asked to found an ashram there on several occasions. However, he felt the pull to return to Europe, and then to a piece of land in the heart of Wales which, from humble beginnings, became his Ashram.
