Some twenty-plus years ago……
…….. Swami Nishchalananda conducted a Masterclass on the Bhagavad Gita. The ten days of translation and analysis of the deeper meaning of the text were recorded, then forgotten; the recordings consigned to a cupboard along with hundreds of other recorded minidiscs.
Finally those hundreds of discs have been converted to ‘digital’ media and are slowly being edited and uploaded to this website.
This series comprises eleven recordings of between half an hour to an hour each. Altogether eight hours of edited condensed audio material, showcasing Swami Nishchalananda’s insight into the deep meaning of the text.
The recordings cover the first five chapters of the text. Swamiji considers that these chapters contain the essence of the Bhagavad Gita.
Swamiji is in semi-retirement now, the days of him doing these long in-person courses have passed. This is an opportunity to revisit an earlier time. We are offering these recordings for a fraction of the cost of attending a ten day residential course, and we hope that you enjoy them as much as this editor enjoyed the painstaking process of editing and restoring the material to the best digital quality possible. One cannot undo things like poor microphone placement and extraneous noise, but with the wonders of studio quality audio processing and noise reduction, we’re confident that the quality of the audio supports the quality of the material.
